Species: Demon

Human Appearance: Modeous is tall and slender, with long black hair and yellow gold eyes. His ears are slightly pointed even in his human form, so he often wears his hair down to hide them.

Demon Apperance: In his demon form, Modeous’s skin becomes an all black metal, his teeth become pointed, and his eyes form two glowing pits of golden fire. He still retains his long black hair, even in this form.

Traits: Modeous is highly intelligent and possesses a high aptitude for demonic magic. His demonic powers include superhuman speed, an armored body, and the ability to manipulate the ground around him. (He can make summoned swords/daggers from the ground, etc. Kinda like Earth Bending, kinda.) Modeous is a highly skilled swordsman and is known for his prowess in hand to hand combat as well. Background: Modeous is a demon and former squire of Sparda. He and his twin brother Bael both squired under Sparda before the rebellion. The three formed a deep brotherly bond. However, Sparda trusted Modeous the most out of the two. Modeous was entrusted with "Sparda's true will and power." After the rebellion, Sparda left the demon world, which quickly fell into chaos without a leader. As the years went by, Bael became resentful of Sparda not only for leaving, but for entrusting his brother with his true will. Bael began to challenge Modeous as the days went on, believing he could still prove that he was stronger. After watching his brother descend into madness and the demon world to chaos, Modeous made the choice to put down his sword and become a pacifist. He left the demon world in search of Sparda. Like Sparda, Modeous is intrigued by humanity and develops and fondness for humans. During his search for Sparda, Modeous meets a group of humans who fight demons, and call themselves paladins. Intrigued by their use of magic, he stays with the paladins for a long time, lending them his own knowledge of demons and demonic magic; believing that Sparda would have wanted humans to be able to fight demons themselves. Modeous falls for one of the Paladins, Danica, and has a child with her. After Danica dies in childbirth, Modeous makes the decision to raise his daughter, Catria, as a normal human as well as give up his search for Sparda. He binds his infant daughter's demonic powers to his life force, ensuring her powers wouldn't awaken while he lived. Eight years after losing his wife, Modeous finds out that Sparda had a family on Earth, but that they had been slain in a demon attack. As the years go by, melancholy takes hold of Modeous and he turns back to his search to Sparda to keep from going insane. One day, about 12 years after Catria's birth, Modeous senses Sparda's energy close by. When he goes to investigate, he finds a boy alone on a beach who says he'd just fled from a demon attack on Morris island. Modeous instantly recognizes the child as one of Sparda's sons and manages to convince the boy of his relationship with Sparda. They boy agrees to come live with Modeous, but insists on hiding his identity, saying he goes by the name "Tony Redgrave." Modeous is relieved, as this means he won't need to reveal any major secrets to his own daughter. (Some of this is obviously taken from the anime. I was inspired by the episode with Bael and Modeous and wanted to expand on some theories of my own based on the information given in the episode. I don’t claim credit for those ideas, but wanted to include them for anyone who has not watched the anime. I want to include more but I don’t want to spoil my fic and make it not fun to read, lol.
